Starent Networks' ST-Series multimedia core platforms are designed to provide operators with a simplified migration through a software upgrade to LTE EPC without requiring a "forklift" upgrade. Starent's platforms can serve as the Mobility Management Entity (MME), Serving Gateway (SGW), Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW), Evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG), Release 8 Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), and HRPD Serving Gateway separately or integrated into a single platform.
With many operators already planning for their 4G core network, Starent Networks is ready with strategies and solutions that will enhance their existing 3G networks, while addressing their 4G EPC requirements.
